Birthday Month Finale in Cartagena: A Celebration to Remember

TRIPAdvisor - Review

April 2025 • Friends Getaway • Hosted by ITA Global

Another birthday trip of a lifetime—curated and executed flawlessly by the incredible team at ITA Global!

This wasn’t our first trip with ITA, and as always, their attention to detail began long before our departure. Their exceptional communication helped us fine-tune every aspect of the itinerary, which ultimately led to the creation of a fully customized travel experience that we’ll never forget.

This year, I decided to bring along my "sista from another mista" to share in the celebration—and from the moment we arrived in Cartagena, the magic began.

Day 1: Arrival with Style (and a Cold Beer)

Upon landing, we were warmly welcomed by ITA’s local team—cold beer in hand, of course (a now sacred tradition!). Our first stop? The iconic Cartagena sign for scenic beachside photos, followed by a smooth check-in at the modern and vibrant Hotel OSH.

As true water lovers, we immediately changed into swimsuits and headed for the pool, soaking in panoramic views and sipping on our welcome cocktails. Dinner that night was a feast of local flavors, paired with live music and dancing—front row at a vibrant restaurant that embodied the spirit of Colombia. What a way to kick off the festivities!

Day 2: Culture, Colors & Club Colombia

The next morning brought a guided walking tour of Getsemaní, Cartagena’s eclectic and soulful neighborhood. Famous for its street art, nightlife, and culinary authenticity, Getsemaní offered us a window into Cartagena’s past—from its origins as a red-light district to its current status as a hub of creativity.

We wandered the vibrant streets, mojito in one hand and Club Colombia Dorada in the other, as our guide told stories of resilience, transformation, and tradition. Cheers to that!

That evening, we danced the night away at the legendary Café Havana. With live salsa, bachata, and Cuban beats filling the air, this place is the spot to feel the heart of Cartagena’s nightlife. The dance floor was electric—and so were we.

Day 3: Fortresses, 360 Views & a Hotel Upgrade

Our third day began with a deep dive into Cartagena’s history at Castillo de San Felipe, the city's iconic fortress. We explored tunnels, climbed battlements, and learned how the city defended its prized coast from pirate invasions. The views from the top? Absolutely breathtaking.

From there, we checked into the stunning Hotel Movich, where every corner feels like luxury and the rooftop views are worth the trip alone.

Day 4: Beachside Bliss on the Rosario Islands

We escaped to paradise at Bora Bora Beach Club, nestled in the idyllic Rosario Islands. With powdery sand, turquoise waters, and a perfect balance of relaxation and celebration, this was Caribbean bliss at its finest.

That evening, not yet ready to end the day, we ventured to 51 Sky Bar—Cartagena’s famed rooftop venue offering panoramic night views of the city skyline. A perfect close to an unforgettable day.

Final Night: A Colombian Send-Off

For our farewell dinner, we dined at Andrés Carne de Res, a bold, urban celebration space where music, food, and dancing collide in one joyous ritual. It was the perfect culmination of a week filled with culture, connection, and celebration.

Until Next Time…

We spent our final morning picking up last-minute souvenirs and soaking in the final moments of this extraordinary journey.

Thank you, ITA Global, for curating yet another unforgettable birthday experience. You’ve set the bar high—again.
