Sisterlocked In Panama (SIP) is back with a NEW Name! We are still “SIP” but now we go by “SISTAS IN PANAMA.” My original mission for SIP when we launched in 2020 was to introduce US Sisterlocks® clients to the beautiful country of Panama and vice versa! I imagined a sea of bright yellow T-shirts on beautiful Black women, wearing stunning Sisterlocks! Panama wouldn’t be able to miss us!! The event was also used to share a little of the rich Black culture of Panama. Well SIP had its own plans!! SIP is really a “Retreat” because it’s about SISTAS connecting on a deeper level, new BFF relationships, organic support systems emerg- ing, crown fixing and celebrating one another, business/social network connections, empowerment and a Sisterhood that contin- ues to flourish beyond Panama. This occurred during #SIP2020 and continued with #SIP2022, establishing a trend that cannot be ignored - SISTAS in PANAMÁ TRIP (#SIP2023) is HERE!!!!!!

Welcome to Panama. Upon arrival, meet your driver outside and then head over to the hotel for check-in and some time to relax. We keep this afternoon open for you in case you want to schedule a tour or activity. Our welcome dinner will be at 7:00 pm in Hotel Torres de Alba.

After a delicious breakfast we explore Panama’s roots on the Pacific Coast by visiting the first settlement dating back to the 1500’s. Learn about Afro Panama- nian History and the first freed slaves on the Pacific. Then we enjoy a Caribbean style lunch prepared by our favorite chef in the city. After lunch we will burn off those calories and walk the streets of Casco Viejo followed by a visit to SAMAAP to learn about the diggers and their struggles then we transition over to the Miraflores Visitor Center for a brief tour of the Panama Canal. CULTURAL CARIBBEAN DAY

Today we push off after breakfast and head north to Colon while you learn about history and current events taking place in Colon. See the rich Afro Panamanian colors and vibes of Portobelo as we submerge ourselves in the Congo culture with great food and dancing. Then spend the afternoon on Isla Mamey, a small Caribbean island with clear waters and a sandy beach, while enjoying fresh coconuts and soaking up the sun. Experience the “Tunnel of Love” and the Natural Pool on our way back to the mainland followed by a special guest appearance from “DJ Savannah” on the way back to the city. Today we transition to the Westin Playa Bonita Hotel after breakfast where you will spend the next couple days eating, drinking, laughing, dancing and coming together as a group.
